Lights.com—Decorative Christmas Lights
Christmas lights sure aren't what they used to be, quite literally. Christmas lights used to actually consist of tiny candles. In some parts of Europe, Switzerland and Germany specifically, families still adorn their trees with little candles. Of course, you probably couldn't come up with a greater fire hazard if you tried, so most families don't leave the room while the candle are lit.
Here in America, things are a little different. It was actually Thomas Edison's assistant, Edward Johnson, who came up with electric Christmas tree lights. That was back in 1882, and Christmas tree lights have come a long way since then. The lights produced today are safer, burn cooler, and use much less electricity.
There is a great variety in Christmas tree lights these days as well. The consumer is not condemned to having the exact same lights as everyone else. You can have not only traditional white lights, but there is just about every color under the rainbow available. Lights can be flashing, or "running" and some even have adjustable flash speeds.
Christmas Tree Lights Come in a Variety of Styles
It's not just colors that you can choose from when it comes to Christmas tree lights. You can get glitter bulbs, bulbs that have bubbling liquid in them (these are a great vintage throwback), Santa Claus and Frosty the Snowman bulbs. For those who love to be unique, you can even get chile pepper or teddy bear Christmas tree lights. Tree lights are just one more way you can make you and your family's Christmas celebration special.
